Your leg area may need about 6-8 sessions to get a complete treatment, with the actual number of sessions varying based on factors such as hair color, density, skin type, and any underlying medical issues. A typical outcome after an initial course of treatment would be a reduction of 80-85% in the area. Additional top-up sessions may be needed to achieve further hair reduction and maintain the results of the course for the remaining 10-15% of hair.
Pain during laser hair removal on the legs should not be an issue. While some areas, such as the shin, ankles, and knees, may experience a pinch, overall discomfort should be minimal. Clients with coarser and darker hair will experience more of this pinch. The coarser hairs on the lower legs may require more heat from the laser, but the sensation should subside as less hairs reappear. We prioritise your comfort and will work with you at your own pace to ensure a relaxed and pleasant experience. We will not rush through the treatment.
Laser hair removal is effective for removing brown and black leg hairs. However, it may not be effective for removing hairs that are blond, red, white, or grey. It is common for the upper thigh area to have lighter hair color and texture. If our assessment determines that these hairs are not suitable for treatment, we will inform you. Additionally, the texture of the hair is also important, as thick and coarse hairs respond more quickly to treatment. Light and wispy hairs may be harder to remove with laser, so it’s important to schedule a consultation with us so that we can assess these hairs for you.
To ensure the best results for your laser hair removal on your legs, here are some helpful tips to follow:
- Exfoliate your legs lightly 3-4 days before your appointment
- Hydrate your skin in the days following the session.
- Shave your legs 24 hours before your appointment using shaving foam and a sharp razor while being meticulous and removing hair from both the front and back of your legs.
- On the day of your session, make sure your skin is free of all products, and if you have recently applied any topical products or taken new medications, inform us a few days before your appointment.
- Additionally, avoid consuming tea or coffee directly before your appointment, as these are stimulants and may affect how you feel during the session.
